The most retarded expression ever devised by man.....Don't fix it if it ain't broke. So you should wait until something breaks to fix it? What is preventative maintenance then?
Oh, and lets get rid of all this product innovation. Two cans on a string make a fine phone.

As I wrote in you in a PM, I'm sorry that my "basics" thread recommendations led you down the wrong path, resulting in you buying a fixture that was not appropriate for an algae scrubber. I intend to clarify my "basics" recommendations on all of the appropriate threads, and I offered to compensate you for your fixture purchase. I'm not sure what else I can do at this point, I try to help people out as best I can, and sometimes, I miss something. It wasn't intentional, but you seem to have taken it very personally, and that does affect me, and I do wish to remedy that error on my part.

My last post was in response to Bowhunter. I have no problem with you Floyd. You have covered my light issue and my dislike for that phrase is not personal.
You owe me nothing and your new recommendations for LEDs are on target or maybe too strong, so that is no longer a problem.

My ATS has taken off running 2 15 watts and 2 12 watts ABI High Power LED Grow Light Bulb, (Red 450-470 nm, Blue 620-630 nm).

This is two weeks growth. And I took some out with hand but there was so much left on the screen. I took the screen out and scrub it to the bare sheet with a credit card. I was surprised with the amount of algae. It has been a week and the screen is already coverd with think layer.

My screen is standing little high so after sizing it was splashing water. So just attached a fresh non-rough sheet nothing grows on it.

So, went on vacation for a week and I left my tank to someone who has never had a tank; my mistake!

Thankfully, things are good now but the sump was running dry for about 5 days. The pump driving my ATS burnt out and the screen dried up.

I guess I'm starting over with my ATS.

Doh! One of our club members did that, left the tank/house in his parents' charge and a GFCI tripped and shut the entire tank off. They thought that he had "shut things down" while he was gone. It wasn't until things started smelling that the suspected something was wrong.

If there is one thing I have learned is when you go on vacation, have a detailed instruction sheet for your tank sitter, and a local and reliable reefkeeper on-call in an emergency. I have been that guy for several club members, and they have been mine.

At least the tank is OK, and the screen will come back relatively fast (faster than if it was brand new)

I gave her a pretty detailed daily cheklist but I didn't put in there to call me if it sounds like a freight train. The list has been updated! LOL

I set my scrubber up about a month ago, and all I am getting is some brown algae. Not very much, but some.

Does that mean that my light may be too strong and is frying the algae as it is building?

Here is a quick pic of what is going on. I just moved the light back, thinking that may be an issue.

So it's on a 120 w/100g stok tank (picked that up from other threads), what about:

Feeding/day?

Screen dims? looks like 9x11

Lighting? CFLs? How many, wattage, reflectors...

Lighting hours/day?

Have you cleaned the screen at all?

Floyd my scrubber is doing really good. I have been reading in few forums about SPS AND ATS. I just stated SPS and will be SPS dominated with few LPs and fishes. So why everyone is saying ATS is good for LPS and FISH not good for SPS.

I haven't read or heard that. I believe that an ATS should be good for all setups.
