Hello everyone,

I’m excited to share my journey with my first marine tank, which I started about three months ago. It’s been a fascinating experience so far, and I would love to hear any feedback or suggestions from this knowledgeable community.

Tank Details:

• Model: Fluval Evo 13.5

• Lighting: AI Prime HD16

• Pump: Sicce Syncra Silent 1.0

• Protein Skimmer: Bubble Magus MiniQ Nano Internal Protein Skimmer

• Heater: 50W

• Auto Top Off: Coralbear

• water change :1/5 weekly

Inhabitants:

• Fish:

• 2 Clownfish (Picasso and Flurry)

• 1 Firefish

• Invertebrates:

• 1 Cleaner Shrimp

• 1 Halloween Hermit Crab

• Several Snails

Corals:

• Red Bubble Tip Anemone

• Acanthastrea (Acan)

• Zoanthids (Zoas)

• Gold Hammer Coral

• Green Hammer Coral

• Frogspawn Coral

• Torch Coral

• Yuma Mushroom Coral

• Assorted Mushrooms (Blue, Red, Hairy)

• Trachyphyllia Coral

• Red Montipora Capricornis (Red Monticap)

• Neon Green Pocillopora

• Alveopora

Water Testing & Parameters:

I test the water on a weekly basis

Here are the latest results:

• NO3: 0 ppm

• PO4: 0.01 ppm

• Salinity: 1.025

• KH: 7.7 dKH

The tank has been a wonderful project, and I’ve been doing my best to ensure a healthy and stable environment for all the inhabitants.

Considering Adding More Fish:

I’m currently contemplating whether to add a Yellow Clown Goby or a Ruby Red Dragonet to the tank. Considering the size and current bioload of my tank, would adding one of these fish be too much?

Here are some pictures to show how it’s all coming together.

This looks amazing. I'm so glad I came across this. I have the same tank and have been looking for ideas on how to maximize the space.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
