I was out on the woods yesterday, found a few morels. Also saw lots of elk with babies, and many deer. Also saw my first ever Rubber Boa, sounds fake but it's a real snake. I didn't know these existed , especially in Idaho. Looked derpy. Apparently people keep them as pets, but kinda illegal. Didn't get a photo of it but all the kiddos and the hubs got to see it. I thought hubs ran out over, since it coiled after he passed, but it was just defensive and relaxed and slowly slithered away.

Has anyone ever run a UV light without it's own pump before? I have 2 chambers I can run one in my 75g, and I think I've got Dino's creeping up. But hoping I can use the flow in the chambers rather than getting one with a built in pump. Less plugs the better.

I don't think I'd cyano, I just did 2 days of treatment and it didn't make an impact.

Gonna siphon out what I can, and add floss after to try to catch all the loose bits.

I have had the "green machine" type before, with the 2 plugs, one for the bulb and one for the pump, but since I have these 2 empty chambers with decent flow I was hoping i could utilize them for a non-pump style uv bulb. Description states put in higher flow area of filtration.

IM makes one of these types to replace the filter sock on the 15g cube, and it's the same concept, no additional pump, just tanks water flow.

It's still UV in high doses and will work, to an extent, it won't be nearly as effective since the dwell and distance to the bulb varies drastically.

Only other thing I can think of is will that compartment be covered to protect you against the UV and will it expedite the degradation of plastic and silicone exposed to it.
