I got this acro frag from a friend. It is a trial acro to see if I can get him to grown and thrive in my tank since I've never kept hard corals before. He told me the name but I forgot and would like to research it. For a while it was all brown with what looked like brown polyps now out of no where the polyps are turning green. So I don't know if it's good or a bad thing.

I'm terrible at Acro IDs but I throw out a guess since it looks like Tricolor Acro. Acropora valida but evolved or Frick would be better at IDing this one.

I think you're right on the species.... tricolor or bonsai maybe. But then again, without lineage to the named colony it is just an acro....

It's soooo hard to ID small frags like this, especially when they're in recovery. But I think A. valida is as good of a guess as any right now; that'd be my pick.
