i want to get thread x thread bulkheads for my overflow.

questions....

  • How do you thread the pvc?
  • Is there a cheap tool or something you can rent from home depot?
  • do you thread the inside diameter or the outside diameter?
  • can you use flexible pvc with threaded bulkheads?

my goal is to plumb everything so it can be taken apart to be cleaned or moved with relative ease.

thanks
vince

Hi Vince

My setup was done the same way with schedule 40 PVC. What you can do if buy a male adapter from home depot and glue that to your PVC.

It will then screw into the bulkhead. Not totally sure about flexible PVC, but I think it can be glued to the male adapter as well.

When you screw in the male adapter into the bulkhead dont forget to use a little thread sealant. I think its called retroseal, but its in the same area as the PVC cement.

Thanks
Randy

Your welcome. Just a quick tip that will really help you when your doing this.

If you dry fit the entire setup before you start gluing anything and then use a non permanent marker to mark your joints.... You will save a lot of time.
