Hello everyone,

This is my first post on R2R, I'm hoping to get some more guidance/help with my future setup.
Currently I have the BioCube 29g HQI model, but unfortunately it came without the HQI light. I got a really good deal on the tank and the owner even gave be a Coralife CFL light with it. Right now im a university student and I don't have much money coming in, but with time I have been gathering almost all of the equipment I need. hopefully?.. its been 5 months since I bought the tank and it took a while to get it fully clean, as you can see in the picture it was a complete mess. in the next few weeks I will be adding the sand, liverock, and the saltwater to finally start the cycle.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Keep calm and Reef on.

I have the 14g JBJ. I ended up punching out the filter cover in the sump area. I am not sure if the 29g has the cover or not. Anyways it would have been an algae trap if I had not removed it.
