AFR provides the reef tank with Alk, Calcium, Mg and trace elements.
As mentioned I would not dose anything and keep monitoring your Alk consumption over a week and see if it drops by 1dKh.
If not your water change might be enough to keep up with demand. If it drops 1 dKh per week you can add about 7ml or AFR a day.

After that you will need to increase or decrease the dose based on your Alk. If Alk goes up decrease a bit if down increase a bit. I would make weekly adjustments not daily.
AFR you can dose any time, the Alk is released slowly so there are no issues with stability and it is ideal product for hand dosing.

Once you get comfortable with Alk you can graduate to measuring Calcium.

But please ensure that when measuring Alk your salinity is same as last time. As salinity increases so will your Alk etc…

Good luck,

there's nothing wrong with manual dosing, just to give you a thought....if you dose it...you'll be more stable, because it's not getting one large dose, but many small ones instead. Just food for thought. :)
