After installing a Reef Mat 500 into a Cade 600 S2 (approx 70g) about 6 months ago I have been trying to raise nitrate & phosphate. For the first time I have .003 nitrate 0 phosphate, both have been zero for a very long time. My skimmer has been off for 3+ months. After Horse Shoe crab died my sand bed is starting to turn brown. Feed heavy pellets and Frozen. 5 fish and some softies.

My question is can I take my reef mat off line and run my skimmer only? Bio brick in the sump, was thinking remove some of that also.

Feed more. Feeding more made my corals blow up and I got detectable nutrients… now too many nutrients :)
