Hello!

Back after 5 years off. It’s been a slow build process, but let’s see how this goes. I’ve slowly collected equipment and stuff the last 3 months. Glad I kept some of the last build toys and my RO. Going to try to have a mixed reef. Based on my last tank it will be a mix of dead corals and algae! I tried to cure the rock this time to avoid the phosphate issues.

Planet 105G crystalline and Stand

Neptune classic for temp and light control

Old school club with an ATI 6 bulb

75 lbs or so of carbisea Rock

50 lbs of sand blend

RO 150SSS skimmer

2 Octopulse 2’s. If these fail I have MP40s waiting.

Basic jebao return till it breaks

Initial scape and so far liking it. Hopefully we’ll get water in it the next couple weeks

About 45 days in!

Curing the rock for a few months in the garage plus adding some bacterial has really let me avoid the nasty new tank stage IMO. Since this was my 4th tank I've setup over the last dozen years, I finally listened to myself and slowed down and did some things right In the preplanning stage.

Current fish list:

2 Clowns
1 Pintail Wrasse - these are beautiful
1 Carpenters Wrasse
1 Chromis
1 hippo Tang
1 Tomini Tang
1 Purple Filefish
a few hermits and nassarius snails.

Planning to start adding coral soon and get the doser online. Planning to use All For Reef for now. Might add an angelfish and another wrasse as the tank matures.
