Hey everybody! I've been admiring Reef2Reef from afar for a while now, and I figured it was time to jump right on in. This certainly seems like one of the friendliest reef forums online!

I've been reefing on and off for a while, and I'd like to share some of my knowledge and glean much of yours. I consider myself a bit of an expert on surge devices and will be working on an informative write up about the basic designs, how they each work, their pros/cons, and how to minimize bubbles.

I snapped a couple quick FTSs of my two main tanks for y'all:

20141001_161936.jpg

40 gallon breeder
Softies, LPS, RBTA
Two clowns, Banggai, six line
This tank gets 5 hours of direct sun all winter long

20141001_162015.jpg

60 gallon cube
98% SPS
Three chromis, sunrise dottyback, Banggai, blue-eyed kole tang
This tank is only six months old, starting to fill in nicely
LED/T5 combo
(sorry this pic is sideways... it's not on my computer. I'll figure this out eventually).

Thanks guys and happy reefing!

I used to Preview on my Mac to rotate the image to the right four time (i.e. the whole way around, lol) and re-saved it before uploading. I guess any picture editing software would work the same...

I used Preview*

I guess there's no way to edit something I already posted, is there?

I just use landscape shots now. They come out normal. I actually found and interesting say to take underwater cell pics :p
