Amazing, I like how you have a huge shelf to put all those sticks on :)

Thanks, my previous set up was fairly similar but I left more open area on the bottom this time. There is a good 400 lbs of rock and about 300 of it is shelf & branch pieces I bought dry. Some of those shelf pieces are a pretty good size.

I came across some old pix and thought I would share a bit of the evolution of my reef tanks. Certainly had some ups & downs over the years.

I am terribly envious of your display. I love the way you made the rock shelves... It really makes it look like a natural reef ridge.

I LOVE that Montipora Setosa. I have been keeping my eyes out for a nice piece, but haven't settled on one yet. Yours just makes me want it more.

Great work... Keep it up!

A natural looking reef is what I am aiming for so that is a nice compliment, thank you!

REEF EVOLUTION

I was looking through some even older pix today since next month it will be 10 years since I jumped into the salt water hobby. Looking at the first picture from 2004 I appear to have had a hard time letting go of the fresh water ideas :yuck:(plastic plants, etc.) YIKES!! Now that is embarrassing! When I had the tank built I was planning to have a FOWLR with a couple of soft corals (maybe) and was ticked when the LFS said they wouldn't make a tank without an overflow so I begged them to make it as small as possible - hence the little glass box in the upper left corner. How times change!!
Anyway I was having fun looking back at my progression & transition in the hobby over the past 10 years & had a good laugh so I thought I would share so you could have a chuckle as well.
Please excuse the poor quality of the early pix - I was using my video camera to shoot stills.

Here are a couple of acros that even though they are still coloring up I thought it made for a cool picture.
