They're probably actually jellyfish polyps instead of hydroids, but for aquarium purposes, there's not really a meaningful difference:This is a type of hydroid. The exact species i do not know. You'll need to ask

They're either colonial hydroids or Nausithoid jellyfish polyps (probably from the Nausithoe genus)
Or jellyfish polyps, yeah - the clearest examples I know at the moment:

I found some of these in my tank- and I'm really not convinced that they're colonial hydroids. Every single ID thread I've come across has them labeled as colonial hydroids, but based on a few observations I've made, I'm not convinced.
