I had to take rock out of the left side to catch the Tomini. I'm kinda happy with how the left side aquascape turned out for now.

Got a few updates. My Alk was sitting in the mid lower 7's so over a few days I brought it up to 8.0dkh. The BRS calculator does come in handy for letting you know how much to dose to hit your target. I split the recommended dosage into 4 parts and added it thru out the day. Retested and was at 8.1dkh. I also woke up and decided it was time for the corals to find their places. Here's a short video

My daughter came home from school and actually asked to go to the pet store! I promised her she could pick out a cleaner shrimp. So off to The Ark we went. They had plenty of blood fire shrimp, peppermint, and camel shrimp. But no cleaners. My daughter was a little upset so I told her she could pick out a fish. ( Out of my list lol ) She came down between a Blue Side Fairy Wrasse, Orange Line Cardinal, and Seale's Cardinal. If you missed them in the video, here's what we came home with. Two Orange Lines. They acclimated easy and we're swimming around together almost right away.

After observing the new additions for a little while, I decided to do a 16.6667% water change lol. At least that's what Google says 15 gallons is. Changed out the filter floss and cleaned the glass. Tomorrow is testing day and carbon change. I still haven't seen the Black Leopard Wrasse. Today makes a week since he went in. Fingers still crossed tho.

I had looked on Etsy for some light shades a few week ago and ordered a few. They came in and I got them installed in a matter of seconds. There fit was perfect and quality was excellent. The Etsy store is UNREEF in case anyone wants to know. He's also got other Reefing accessories in his store. This was before placing the corals on the rockwork.

It looks GREAT!! I also got to put my guys back in the tank after an Ich treatment. They are doing great and I can relax a bit myself now.

Love the little cardinals.
Thanks! My LFS has a pair in their big display tank that spawn all the time. And the colors get more pronounced as they mature. Glad you for your fish back in! I love your Torch garden!

Quick update time. I didn't get a chance to test my parameters or change out the carbon. Work and then my daughter's volleyball tournament kept me away from the tank almost all day. We got back about 20 minutes before my lights turn off. But, when I looked in the tank..... the Black Wrasse has made his debut in the reef! He was swimming around and hunting the rocks for pods. I've never really actively stocked any of my tanks with pods before, but for this guy I'm gonna make an exception. I'll be picking up a few bottles of pods after work tomorrow. Hopefully he'll eat frozen once he's comfortable. But for now here he is!

Sadly I lost one of the Bengaii Cardinals. He was eating fine for the first few days but then just stopped. I didn't see any aggression that would've stressed it to not eat. And I didn't see any signs of diseases. The other Bengaii is an absolute pig at feeding time, and so are all of the other fish. My LFS has cardinals almost all the time so I may grab one to take it's place. I'm hoping to eventually have 2 bonded pairs of cardinals. The Bengaii and the Orange Striped Cardinals.

Been following along, nice tank. I get concerned about adding fish without full QT, velvet alone is so common and could wipe everything out before you can act

Thanks for following! I for sure always have that in the back of my mind. My LFS only gets fish from quarantined sellers. And their fish system runs a low amount of copper as well. I might've been lucky so far(knock on wood) but I've never had a problem with any livestock from them.

This Devils Hand Leather was one of the first corals I got when getting into the hobby. If you look close you can still see the frag plug it came on at it's base. I've been thinking about trading this whole rock to my LFS and opening up some real estate on the left side for a nice scoly or meat coral. It's bigger than my fist when it's open like this.

Now that I think about it. I still have this tank setup in my mancave. I've only been testing the salinity and keeping it somewhat stable. I've also been changing the filter cartridge weekly. I kept it up from the tank transfer to have some rock seeded just in case I wanted to change things in the display. I may try my hand at making a rockscape out of it with mortar. But I guess I could relocate the leather in this tank for now until I make my mind up.
