I just got the Max E 170 and i would like to know if others, who own this aquarium, has made any upgrades to it? For example light, skimmer, ekstra cirkulation or something else. If so, why?

The most obvious upgrade for me to the E-170 would be a sump for sure! :)

A sump will increase your water volume a fair bit, and give you better room for additional equipment such as a good protein skimmer (Deltec dc-400)

I had a Reefer 170 running for a good couple of years with 2 x AI Nero 3 powerheads, that was plenty enough - and gave me good results!

Also, dejligt med endnu en Reefer fra Danmark! Velkommen om bord! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I have a Reefer E 170 aquarium. At first, the skimmer was noisy, but it has become quieter over time. I turn it off at night and run it during the day. I have also installed an MP10 powerhead and plan to add a second one soon to improve water flow. I have also added an Aqua Medic heater with a twin controller.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
