I just got my Red Sea Reefer 200 G2 max set up and I am perplexed at how the ReefMat takes up 1/3rd of the sump and the Red Sea Reefer DC Skimmer 300 is supposed to fit in there too. The two baffles are glued in and I don't want to cause a catastrophic leak in the sump trying to remove them. Do I even need to use a skimmer if I have the ReefMat and build a refugium down there?

Tried to attach pictures but kept getting "File size too big"

Disregard this post. I should have read around with the skimmer versus refugium posts...

The refugium people sold me. Skimmers are probably overrated. I've bottomed out nitrates in several tanks in the past. More food for the critters at the bottom of the food chain makes total sense.
Skimmers do more then just removing waste and excess nutrients.
