Well, it is true that if you didn't supplement magnesium (or add it by water change) for long enough, the abiotic precipitation of calcium carbonate (along with some magnesium and strontium in it) would increase, and the deposition of calcium carbonate by corals would likely decline.

But since the premise of the question was that alkalinity was maintained by limewater addition, there's no mechanism that would allow the calcium to actually decline since the precipitation of calcium carbonate will always take out at least as much alkalinity as calcium, if not more due to the incorporation of magnesium and strontium. :)
