the shafts on thost bubble blaster impellers can break easily since they are ceramic. I went thru two implleres in 2 years on one. First one the magnet cracked and then rusted and swelled up and the pump seized up. I got lucky in getting it out. the 2nd one I accidentally dropped the impeller during a cleaning and the shaft broke. pump ran but impeller no spin. :-( and they arent cheap either.

WOW, I was thinking about getting this skimmer, maybe not. I have a ASM G3 and never had any problems over 5 years old. But watch and see this weekend something will happen.

well pump was working but seemed like it was spinning too fast. couldn't get it dialed in. looks like there was one of the bearings that was damaged when the old impeller was removed. pump is on the way to the hospital for a check up and repair. i have to say that so far the customer service has been more than acceptable. 2 thumbs up. more to follow when i have something to report.
by the way how long can you run a tank without skimming?

You can run about a week or so without a skimmer, I did it when I had similar issues and really didn't notice any issues. You might want to add an air stone to help with the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water.

The SRO3000 was a great pump when paired with the bubble blaster 3000. they have a massive collection cup and really pull the nasties out. BUT like any venturi pump, you MUST clean that air intake as it will build salt creep and your air flow drops.

Wow I thought I had issues with my Vertex Omega 150 ozone nozzle keeps breaking and I don't even use the ozone but was more upset about the aesthetics. At least coral vue has excellent customer service. Vertex is tough to get a hold of.
