I am looking at the Reef Octopus Regal 150 INT DC Skimmer for my 75 gallon reef. Probably with sump and rock and sand I'm around 80 gallons or so. Is this skimmer too big or appropriate? The 110 looks too small.

TIA.

if it were me id go for the classic model and save the money on the dc model,
tried the dc before and really no benefit IMO. once its dialed in really no need to mess with it. I use the 150 classic on my 75, works great

Thanks for your reply. I may consider that. I was just concerned if that 150 model was too big or not.

I used to oversize skimmers when I first got into the hobby, and realized they didn’t perform well. However, I see the neck is 3 inches diameter and so that’s pretty much the same as other skimmers rated around that tank volume.
