Update--
got some turbo snails and added 3 green chromis, I really enjoy watching them school.

Also, happy Father's Day to me! just ordered a Reef Octopus 150!

On the DIY front, I am working on a 12 gallon gravity fed ATO system. fairly simple, involved some 1/2" plumping, a garbage can and a float valve.

Would love to see your ato setup! Have any new tank pics , I assume the turbo snail is happily grazing on an algae bloom?

Maroon Clown was not a fan of the chromis...unfortunately only have one remaining. Everyone else is doing well. Also, it is officially a reef!

Been off for awhile, I just did a search for float valves on amazon.com and found this one threded. If I was daring enough, I could have drilled the sump, but i figured I would play it safe.

I made some mods to the plumbing. Return line is now hard plumbed and split for easier water changes:

Added a curtain to make the closet look a little nicer...I'd rather look at my tank, but the wall of white helps with the aesthetics.

It's been awhile since I have posted an update. Switched jobs, now I work from home full time. The closet is no more, it is now my home office/fish room. The tank has been wet for about 6 months now. Added about 20lbs of base rock to my sump mostly to act as a bubble diffuser, as I have no baffles.
Coraline is starting to grow out, I'm getting some nice deep red and purple tones on my rock. I plan on doing some cleaning tonight and should have some updated photos shortly. Here's an almost full group shot to get started though:

Thank you all for watching and allowing me to keep my cyber-diary. I can't wait to look back on this 2-3 years from now and see the progress it has made.
