I just got a little six line wrasse from petco today. Acclimated him and then put him into a 10 gallon to quarantine by himself. He has been almost like standing up, not really swimming and keeps hiding behind the filter and is staying at the top of the water by the filter. Shouldn’t be lack of oxygen because I have the air stone on max to help. Any clue on what could be going on?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

How is the wrasse this morning?

Do you know the salinity of the water that the fish was in at Petco versus your tank?

Does the quarantine tank have good hiding spots?

He’s doing better now swimming around more
No I don’t know and we have a PVC pipe in there but he’s mainly kinda been behind the heater and filter.

It may have just gone into acclimation shock for a time.....
