Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have tips for skimmer schedules & ATO flooding?
I started turning my skimmer off for 4 hours in the morning because my PO4 was zeroing out.

But when the skimmer turns on the ATO just dumps a stupid amount of water and causes the skimmer to go nuts/overflow.

Any tips here? Or just go back to 24/7 skimming?

are your skimmer and ATO water level sensor in the same sump chamber? if so, you could possibly rectify that by moving the skimmer to a separate chamber

Good point. Although I have a pretty tight sump in the red sea reefer 350.
A reefmat takes up a ton of space in the front & the skimmer is behind it.

The skimmer is right in front of the overflow to the return pump chamber.

I am confused....when the skimmer shuts off, that excess water should remain in the sump. When it turns back on, it shouldn't pull the water level low enough to kick on the ATO?

Might just be normal evap that happens..... seems alot though. Ive always run my skimmers 24/7, but with me getting back in and my intended stock I may only be running my skimmer at night. So basically watching this to see what others say.
