Recently put a Halloween hermit in my tank (2-3 weeks ago) but recently ive been noticing only my Trochus snails suddenly appearing upside down yet when i flip them over it seems like nobody is home anymore....could the hermit be eating them? is it possible the snails have retreated so far into their shell i just cant see them?

You should generally be able to see the hard “cover” that snails have when they retreat which they use to cover up if they’re closed. If the shell looks empty, it probably is. Hermit crabs, especially large ones, can and will kill snails (and also eat coral, in my experience)
