Sponge type thing under my frag

Hi All,

I have this sponge type thing growing under my frag. When I picked it up I was kinda shocked. Its like a cream color and fluffy feeling.

Does anyone know what this is or?

If you were shocked then I would recommend that you get long rubber gloves to protect your hands from sponge type things that you might have in your tank.

What kind of frag did you get the hitchhiker electric sponge from?

Tunicates and sponges are generally good additions for a reef tank.

I believe its on some sort of moni frag. Are you implying that the sponge is good?

Yes, generally they are regarded as a significant good part of the reef biome. Some can get out of hand and grow wildly but generally they just hide out underneath stuff and cycle nutrients.
