this will probably be a quick answered thread about the flipper float, but I have a question.

The standard flipper float is good for tanks up to 1/2" thick. Does anyone know if the magnet is strong enough on the standard size to accommodate the 1/2" thick glass tanks? Or is the hold rather weak?

I’m assuming this is the standard one? I use them on my two 150g systems with 1/2” glass and they’re awesome!

I just replaced mine with the Tunze Strong+.
The Flipper standard simply would not remove the stubborn stuff, even with brand new blades. The Tunze however, removes everything with ease.

I would suggest trying the Flipper Max if you’re set on the brand.
