So I have a target large moray in a stock tank and I've decided to go ahead and build a sump so I can move my skimmer away from it while making and maintenance safer for me. I'm wanting to use 2 pumps one to push water into the sump and one and a standard return. Just curious about how bad it'll be to control water level in it.

Problem will be with getting the pumps synchronized. 2 exact pumps brand new I will almost guarantee one will push harder. You may be better off plumbing pipe between them somehow

I could drill into the side of the stock tank and raise the water level but effectiveness was my concern with that you know as far as actual turnover

You could do a few bulk heads around it going into like one 2-3 inch pipe to a gate valve for control and a decent size return pump so you are capturing from multiple places around that thing.
