I have a Apogee MQ-510 to measure the par.
My small tank is in the room where I sit at my computer and I am trying to minimize the light glare.
The fixture is at 8" above the water and the glare isn't bad.
The leds are just on/off.
I was hoping the actinic would have enough less par to use a couple of them.

But doesn't look like it.
Maybe if I can diy a decent looking light shade, them raising the fixture up higher would be my solution.

Thanks
Just get a dimmer...

With luck it will remember last light setting after off
There are numerous ways to do this.

I think he meant the Actinic T5 puts out too much par.

It could also be an option. I was really just looking for an easy way to drop the par by 100-150 and still use the fixture.
I have that same XHO dimmer and don't use it. I like the XHO at full blast and I'm not really sure how much dimming the XHO would drop par anyway. But it definitely looks dimmer with XHO only on, for dawn/dusk, which I don't like.

Dimming the LEDs is probably the only method short of 1)raising or shading. ( Btw black plastic window screen will cut about 30% of your par. 2 ) disconnecting or changing ballasts so just 2 tubes run.

Six Power Settings: 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 10% & 5%

Does it keep the last setting after an off on cycle?

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
