Dec 23, 1722 Axel Fredrik Cronstedt was born. He discovered nickel (Ni, element 28) and zeolites.
Dec 24, 1745 Benjamin Rush was born. He was a signer of Declaration of Independence and published the first American chemistry textbook
Dec 25, 1751 William Gregor was born. He discovered titanium (Ti, element 22).
Dec 26 1898 Marie and Pierre Curie discovered radium (element 88, Ra)
Dec 26, 1928 Ali Javan was born. He was the inventor of the helium-neon laser (the first gas laser and first continuous-wave (CW) laser)
Dec 27, 1822 Louis Pasteur was born. He discovered the optical activity of tartaric acids, fermentation, decomposition, microbes, and, obviously, the anti-microbial treatment of beverages named after him (pasteurization).
