Husband purchased this Leather toadstool. It has been in our tank for 2 weeks. It’s looking well but I noticed today that there is something black coming out of it and small black things that look like stones around the base. Posting pictures for help in identifying or putting my fear to rest. Thank you!

Nice little toadstool! Nothing to be concerned about. A lot of times, when they cut these to propagate them they put the cut pieces in a basket with rubble or coarse aragonite until they attach themselves. That gives them something to glue to a frag plug.

Great to know! I’m relieved. What got my attention was the black thing sticking out of it? Then I noticed the stones as well. Was worried it had a worm!
