Topoff with saltwater to raise salinity?

There is no concern after adding it to the aquarium. The concern is precipitation during mixing and storage time (if any). Using it right away will minimize the concern, but it may still happen in the container. :)

Ok I have another question. My SG is pretty much stable at 1.025 and I'm going to raise it to 1.026. Salt creep has diminished since I replaced the airstone with a skimmer. So...if I use SW to topoff occasionally for SG I have some issues. The alk and ph tends to drop in the SW I've mixed when it sits. Am I going to have to test alk and ph and correct them each time I use SW before I add it? This would be a real pain. Or, would it be better to mix up a very small batch of SW (a cup or less) every time I need it? That sounds like a pain too. I mention this because the alk in my tank did drop after using low alk SW that had been sitting.
