What advice have you picked up along the way that doesn't seem to be common knowledge, but may be worth sharing? It could be random theories or something you know actually works.

I stopped by the local coral shop late yesterday and got some interesting insight on coral keeping that I hadn't heard or read before. The shop owner shared that, in his experience, the secret to Goniopora and Alveopora actually starts with not touching the coral. In his experience, pieces that got oil from the skin directly on them died back the quickest, so he only moved them with a large pair of tweezers if he had to touch them at all. After starting this practice, he apparently noted significantly higher success. I'm now attempting this myself. (Obviously proper parameters are key, but this being a less common observation that contributes).

Can be coral, fish, or other advice.
