Hello Reefers,

I have been cycling my new aquarium 260 gallons for a week and a half after adding turbo start 900 and some rocks from my old system. Today I made a nitrate test and found 1.2 ppm. I have 3 little fish in there swimming happily and eating a lot. I am upgrading my 110-gallon tank that has SPS, LPS, and softies to this tank. When do you guys advice moving all to the new tank? Is the new tank cycled?

I appreciate any advice.

Thank you!

All my fish and corals by the way I saw you are from spring. I am in Houston
How many fish are you adding to the 260? The tank has enough nitrifying bacteria to handle the bioload of the 3 fish you have (aka it's "cycled") but if you increase the bioload too quickly, you could throw things out of balance.

What fish will you be moving to the new tank?

Edit: see post 7

Yes, I am moving all but the sand
Ok, then you will be moving the nitrifying bacteria to the new tank which means the new tank will be able to handle the new bioload. You can move the rocks, corals, and fish whenever you're ready. (If you do it over several days, be sure most of the rock is moved the same time as the fish...)

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
