I travel in sites and i saw sun sun uv lamp 14w for my 425 redsea.
What are you think on them?

Remember a UV lamp will only sterilize water near it. In this case any water that goes under the shield will be sterilized.

UV's like this that are supposed to go into the sump are: dangerous if you expose your self to the lamp, possible not rated for continuous use in saltwater, most likely not approved in terms of electrical safety, potentially will damage your sump if it's acrylic, and probably do not work as they're not big enough (you need a 40 watt for that size tank and you have no method of controlling flow.


Just say no.

Higly dangerous, suggest to stay away from it. A safe one has to be completely closed and the lamp non visibile al all.
 

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
