Becka's tank has been doing so well as of late that it has become a rescue and recovery center for a few of the fish and corals here at the coral farm. Sometimes what these fish and coral need are just a stable and drama free tank to hang out in to fully recover and Becka's tank has been exactly what the doctor ordered!

We are back for an update on our farming systems here at the Tidal Gardens greenhouse. We are installing a kalkwasser dosing system similar to what we have next door in the new building. Over there we have three big 2500-gallon systems and each one has its own kalkwasser reservoir. This setup in the greenhouse is going to be slightly different in that we are going to have a single kalkwasser reservoir that all five of the slightly smaller 1,000-gallon systems in the greenhouse will draw from.

In this coral spotlight we will be taking a look at Platygyra, a coral commonly referred to as a brain worm coral. I use the name Platygyra very loosely to describe any number of similar brain corals.

It has been a while since I've done a coral farm update, but here we go. We have a lot of on-going projects, one of which is re-working our aiptasia farm for breeding berghia nudibranchs.
