My first tank of this size, 180 gallon dual overflow by aqueon. Sump I made out of an aqueon 55 gallon with 1/4" acrylic baffles. This project has taken me about 6 weeks to get to this point and many many trips to lowes. I hard plumbed it with 1" pipe. Made my own half canopy to cover the ugly lights and give my cats somewhere to lay. When filling with direct rodi my cats knocked out the hose overnight. Let's just say that next day was very time consuming. Here's my list of equipment I chose.
Simplicity 320dc skimmer
2 icecap 4k gyres
2 kessil apx9's
Innovative marine hydrofill ato
Skimz quietpro 6.0 1585gph return
Finnex refugium led
Coralife turbotwist 6x uv light
Tropicmarin pro reef salt
Brs 7 stage rodi with 0tds
120lbs live rock from tropicorium (local coral farm)
8 bags caribsea pink fiji sand
Brightwell No3 plate pieces
Brightwell bio plate soaked in bacter7
Added bio spura as well
Hard to tell from the pictures but there's alot of caves and plenty of room behind the rock for flow. I plan on doing another mixed reef. Thanks for looking, jeff
