Bought this tank 2nd and only today ( tanks been running for 2 weeks now) I’ve noticed this at the back right corner this part of the glass on the corner that looks like it’s been siliconed. Now I’m not sure if they come like that( don’t imagine so) and seal does not seem to be damaged or no chips or anything like it. Just checking with more experienced reefers if it is a worry as I’ve read some stories about Red Sea thanks. Thanks for you time lads.

Upon closer examination, can't really tell what's going on. Scraper damage is when you hit the edges of the silicone when scraping algae off the glass. The bottom pic kind of looks like it, but maybe too straight and uniform. The top pic not really. It's hard to discern silicone detail in pictures....

Does it look like an extra layer of clear silicone was added on top of the original black silicone?

Interesting and semi-concerning. Inspect those areas very closely, primarily the condition of the original black silicone. If more was added by the original owner, why?

The original black silicone looks intact. I’ve sent him a message not sure if he’ll answer. I’ll keep an eye on it everyday anyways. Will be ready to move everything if needed

Silicone on top of silicone doesn't even work. If this is exactly as described, an extra bead of silicone was layered over the original silicone by the previous owner, I'd probably just peel it off and see what happens. If there is a leak or seam failing, better to find out now when you are home and prepared to deal with it.

You may want to look at the threads concerning Red Sea tank failures. Just an fyi
Hey! I’ve seen them all that’s why the concern. The Seam looks intact all over the tank and I’ll keep an eye on it everyday. Within the smallest sign of failure I’ll be moving everything. Thank you

Do redsea tanks have beveled edges? To me, it looks like the silicone on the outside of the tank pulled away from the bevel. If that is the case, imo that means the seam is starting to go.

Is the seam that joins the two panes of glass all black? If so, no need to worry. If you see a bubble in the black area, it’s a seam issue.
