What’s growing on my Zoa?

Hello,

Today I noticed this egg sack (white bulb with what looks like eggs inside, maybe?) looking thing on one of my zoas. Everything else looks ok and is free of whatever it is. Anyone know how to ID it?

Thanks for the input! If it is a sponge, should I be doing anything about it? I’m relatively new with the hobby (under two years in) and it’s my first time seeing anything like this.

Remove it while it is small or else it will grow and creep into the polyps and smother them eventually choking the coral.

Sponge are harmless filter feeders but can grow over corals. It should be easy to remove by taking a toothbrush and just softly brush it off.
