What in the Omega?

I've been pulling these out of a new container of Omega One Marine Flakes. I don't want to put it in the tank. Feels like cardboard but it's brittle. I think it's likely food but anyone else see this in flake food? I don't use it often tbh.

Lol. Definitely smells fishy... Maybe this is run of the mill but I'm just hesitant. I don't use flake often. Maybe I should trash it and get something better :thinking-face:
