For a while, I thought my pectinia was going to be the big baddy in the tank, but this octospawn has been really trash talking the meat corals lately. I've had to move both the lobo (behind) and the trachy (right) further and further away from it.

Trachy is pinched up right now, because he didn't like that octospawn reaching out at him. At least the torch and the octo get along.

Let's see your mean corals! Gotta be some good galaxea and chalice shots out there!

My cotton candy torch is a murderer. It won’t tolerate anything nearby and has stung / killed multiple things I thought it wouldn’t be able to reach

My cotton candy siting my lobo Jan 23
and the lobo still is not recovered
This week the placement all was fine for several weeks

Then one morning I see a torch sweeper engaged with the lobo. I tried to separate it gently but the sweeper tip broke off

I got it off with a baster. Lobo immediately starts going down hill and proceeds to bleach and lose all color

This is it today, alive, but most color still gone

I never see the sweepers at night because mine is in the office!

I've got a few weeks in bachelor mode this summer with the kids overseas and I plan on spending a few nights at the office with my red flashlight seeing what happens after hours!

I’m thinking about selling this jerk to a LFS
You leave these two alone for five seconds and look what happens!! That is crazy. I was doing a little research around the site and came across your post. Give em room they say! Why do you need such a big tank, they ask?

My hammer has become a jerk also. I had to move it to an isolated magnet shelf on the top right of my tank because he started stinging everything in the sandbed

That's crazy. I know that euphyllia do have the tendency to show aggression but these guys seem extra feisty. I can't help but interpret that as a really healthy system? I'm completely new to all this lol

I don’t know why but these two in particular are extra feisty and I am very familiar and experienced with both torch and hammer. These two though…out of the norm for aggression.

The others in my tank - I’ve never seen a sweeper once. Tanks in night mode now so they are closing up but it lets you see how many torches there are and how many heads are on that teal hammer.

I would say my system is very stable and healthy. Check my tank thread…

Wow. Those are the types of reefs that caught my interest and got me into this hobby. It's hard to stop looking at something like that lol. So I take it these were not frags from existing colonies that you already owned?

A lot of my coral started out as tiny frags that I bought online or from a lfs

And I could go on and on but yea most things I grew out. And the things I have now that are small I am going to grow out. Just takes time and stability

Those before and after shots are classic.
