Why is salinity not a popular brand
That's all if used ever since I started my reef
Someone please explain
Thanks

Most likely cost
I bought a 25g drum for I think $275

When I moved I tried to get another drum and the LFS wanted $375. So I went back to reef crystals. I really liked the salt

Thanks
Randy

Tropic Marin Pro

It is the only Salt out there that I have found that has lower Alkalinity (8 to 8.5)

I am using red sea regular (blue bucket) after using coral pro for years. It's working great so far with the lower alk levels..

In the past, I have used io(lol, just gave away a bucket of it), rc, Tropic Marin, salinity, Oceanic and coral pro..

I like the red sea products the best for the reef, and Oceanic for fish only..

Cost?

375?

How big was the bucket?

My LFS sells a 225 Gallon Bucket (I think this is the biggest that they make but maybe I am wrong) for 69.99

It is actually the cheapest Salt they sell (Even cheaper than Instant Ocean or Reef Crystals).

No Popular?

Sure it is not Instant Ocean but everything pails in comparison to the amount of salt that they sell.

I know a lot of people that use Salinity.

Right now my LFS is sold out of it.

Of course they sell a 225 Gallon Bucket for $70

And I am told that the next closest LFS sells the same Bucket for $140

Maybe that is why.

Correct $375. It is a 25 Gallon drum. I believe it covers 1050 gallons.

Why do you say that they do not get dealer support?

So because it is a very inexpensive salt people assume it is bad and do not buy it?

I know a bunch of people that use it.

It is only sold thru independent pet stores. So your local LFS must care it for you to get it.

That is true.

So why do you get no dealer support?

The LFS is getting great support because of that.

There are tons of salt mixes out there if a LFS carries it I am sure they will support it.
