Just switched to a Deltec 1350 from a Bubble Magus Curve 5 on a standard 75g with 30g sump (total volume approximately 72g). I spent days getting the BM dialed in to perform consistently and it worked well. As for the Deltec, I've spent maybe five minutes tuning it and it is skimming every bit as good and is pulling a larger volume of effluent. The cup is much larger so I'll be able to add a Swabbie to enhance consistency. It is even easier to take apart than the BM which was pretty dang simple (one thumb screw lets you break it all the way down).

Very pleased with the performance thus far but it hasn't even been 48 hours.

After many years of using a Tunze DOC skimmer, I went back to the Aqua-C Remora hang on for my sump to my 120-gallon tank...very happy with it.

I am using coral life 65 on my 40b. Im not impressed or even to happy with it. It keeps sending micro bubbles out and if you turn the intake like after the pump down it just sucks water and no air so then no bubbles. It has yet to be actually broke in. Its been 4 months and still acts the same as out of the box.

If you switch...

AquaC Remora has to be the all time best hang on skimmer. Great, simple design that lets you use any regular pump and which is very upgradable. Nice! If you're patient enough to find one used, they tend to go for around $100.....but they're pretty reasonable new, with warranty, too.

I had a Remora on my 40g years ago and it was a great little skimmer. Never had to mess with it, the thing just worked. Pretty sure I had it connected to a Mag 7.

SRO 2000INT. I'm very satisfied with performance but it could be a little quieter.

Aqua C Remora S on a 12g nano. A little overkill but I love it. At first I had a Tunze 9001, but HATED fiddling with it. Even with an ATO, water level was always an issue. It took up less of a footprint and fit inside the rear sump, but simply cannot compare to the remora s. Love this skimmer. I had a Remora Pro on my 75g, and the S is so much quieter.

Depends how souped up yours was – that's part of the beauty too, how upgradable they are. Mag 7 is what I ran my EV90 with! :) (Which was supposedly big-big for the EV90....I had a 90º fitting in my feed plumbing.)
