I'm in the market for a new Magnet algae cleaner for my 3/4" acrylic tank. I have used the magfloats in the past and I'm wasn't happy with them.
Been looking at the Mighty magnets and boy are they expensive. Are they worth the price?
how bout the Tiger Shark? ....
Please share any experience you have with them....what are you using? what you love/hate about it...

I have a Flipper and really like it so far... but, I have a glass tank. I think it has an acrylic version as well.
I do have the flipper, it works well if I use it on a daily basis but doesn't work great when you slack for a week or so and get green algae growing :(

Tunze is great give em a try ,
I looked them up but they only show for glass not acrylic. Also it shows that 3/4 is their max so I'm not sure how well it will work.

Don't you think this work for you
Care Magnet Strong+

I saw that but I must have missed it on their site where they list it safe for acrylic tanks. It only mentions glass. Have you used it personally?

I decided to splurge and get the MM, but the acrylic sides on my tank are a full inch.

Mag8 with modified Kent scraper blade I cut and JB welded to the mag! Absolutely nothing compares to this beast! Can use metal or plastic blades!

Which one did you get and how do you like it?

F6-B. Hands down the best magnet cleaner I've ever owned; though for the price it'd better be. I dropped a sizable sum on my 450 acrylic, so skimping on the cleaner seemed akin to putting cheap gas in a Maserati. I am not entirely sure I'd view the algae dozer pads as completely acrylic safe, though the regular pads are just fine. The size of the cleaner makes for quick work on even a 96x30 panel.

I use a flipper max for my 210 (1/2" glass) and a flipper nano for my 32 (8mm glass). I wouldn't trade either. The only thing I would change is that there is no replacement pads, but I haven't worn either out yet.

Flipper for sure worth the money. Rinse blade right away. Almost a year and mine is rust free.
It gets into tight spaces with blade end and for the simple surface film of algae, the pad does a wide area quickly

Figure I update this thread.
I ended up going with the mighty magnet and couldn't be happier. The thing is a beast and makes cleaning a breeze. Well worth the price. Definitely recommend it if you are in a market for one.
