i just used to pull it off the rocks till it was the size i wanted, came off quite easily

Mine got really bad in my nano, I just replaced all the rock. Don't think I will ever add Xenia again.

Mine did the same. Started as a small frag, lasted on the island for the next 6 months and then did a massive bloom within 3 months. I love it, so its not a problem, but I can definitely see how it could be damaging to other corals.

In my experience xenia is a horrible shipper. I have seen it die completely within 8 hours of being bagged.

In my experience xenia is a horrible shipper. I have seen it die completely within 8 hours of being bagged.
Years ago I was testing this exact thing with zenia.
I live in Washington and was shipping to California to test longevity of zenia.
What I learned back then was to ship it with no water just a soaked paper towel in a climate controlled box.
Made it every time :)
