How to: Kill aiptasia with fire- also good for aiptasia growing amongst polyps

So this is just one of many methods that works for killing aiptasia. For me, I've found it very useful (and VERY effective) when killing ones that have grown in amongst polyps. Also tend to not get many pop-ups after this sort of treatment, figure the heat is very effective at killing the cells.
Obviously, this method is only useful if you can pull the afflicted piece of rock/frag plug/rubble/etc out of the tank- but it is also a great way of getting rid of things like Majano 'nems or protopaly's that have hitchiked their way onto a nice piece.

Weaponz for ze upcoming struggle (I get in a German mood when waging battle with fire, don't know why)- a source of heat/flame and a piece of metal. The longer the piece of metal, and the more pointy, the better you are (longer means your hand won't get burned, more pointy for getting into nooks and crannies of rock)

Rock is good to go back into the aquarium, no need for a rinse-off of any sort providing you're running something like carbon to absorb any toxins that may have been released by the dead 'nem. Hope that's help- if anyone would like a similar picture guide for using Aiptasia-X type products, just let me know.

Aiptasia is still dead a few days later- so itz a success!

Another trick is if the aiptasia is growing somewhere with no corals around it, you can take the flame directly to it. Very effective, but not always applicable.
