Sassawrasse and I share a few tanks. The 125g is one of them.

Our first tank together was a 55g. After having it for about 4-5 months, we both agreed we wanted to go bigger. As luck would have it, we found a heck of a deal.
We bought this tank used from someone who worked at our LFS. He was moving and couldn't take the tank with him. He was running out of time with less than a week until his move, and we got a deal we couldn't refuse. 125g 6feet long, with a 30g sump, 4ft Dual 250w MH w/2 PC, skimmer AquaC EV180, Mag 9.5 return pump.

We reused alot of the sand and water, and some of the rock. We replaced the existing sump with 2 20L tanks - 1 as a refugium and 1 as a sump.

Our original plan for the lights were to replace with LEDs. We went back and forth with different ideas about it, and kept the 4ft light over the 6ft tank for a while.

Here are some older photos of the tank...

Sass found a similar light on craigslist, but it actually fits our tank. A 6ft light for a 6ft tank! And T5s instead of PCs. There are 3 150w MH and 8 T5s. We've noticed much better coloration on everything in the tank with the addition of the T5s.

Some of our rock structures have been altered so you can unfortunately see PVC. We haven't done anything about it because we are planning on upgrading to a 180g (It's sitting in our dining room...empty...and taunting us)

These were our RBTA 1 year ago when we got them..

And now.. (and normally they are less bubbly and even larger)

And some pics of various things in tank.

I'll have Sass post some more photos, as she's the one that normally does that for our threads..

Stock list

True mated pair of Mocha Clownfish (Harry & Sally)
True mated pair of Tomato Clownfish
3 Bangaii Cardinals (2 mated together, 1 lone wolf on the other side of the tank) (3 Musketeers)
1 PJ Cardinal
2 Green Chromis (originally were 3 stooges because there were 3)
1 Coral Banded Shrimp (Brutus)
1 Mystery Wrasse (007)
1 Scooter Blenny (Forest Gump)
1 Green spotted Mandarin
1 Starry Blenny (Gandolf)
2 Serpent Stars (1 purplish/maroon, 1 tan)
1 Flame Hawkfish
1 Sally Light Foot (Dr. Evil)

(We like naming everyone... and the theme of the tank is movie/tv characters)

RIP in the past week - 2 fire shrimp and 1 cleaner shrimp
2 of them disappeared at the same time...we weren't sure who the culprit was, but today we witnessed "Dr. Evil" aka sally light foot eating the last fire shrimp.

When we upgrade to the 180g, Dr. Evil is gone!!

I would have to do some serious work under there before I was comfortable posting a pic. As for how they are connected...I built a platform for the fuge to sit on so it is about 6" higher then the sump. It simply gravity feeds into the retun section of the sump via a 3/4" bulkhead drilled into the side of the tank.

Thank u sir ! I have a 55 and as we all know the stand is less then 10 in... So I have to custom build 2 sumps and connect them. What type of PVC did you use to connect the 2 and was it one whole or 2
