Time to start my own tank thread. I was not very good at making sure I took pics as I went.
I started this 110g tall in feb 2010 and it was an upgrade from a 55g. and the contents from it, plus extra LR

In july 2010 I got rid of some corals (I know there was not much in there) and added lots of sps.

In January 2011 I decided to reaquascape to give the more open look:

Some corals then:

Thankyou nata, only us reefers know how much effort it takes in this hobby to have a thriving reef, with pests and water params out of wack, nuisance algae, it is a long road, so means a lot to see others appreciate it.

Looks great! You are getting some nice growth and love the way you changed the aquascape. What is the coral in the top left of the last FTS pic?

If you're talking about the picture above, it looks like a green stylophora

Just noticed that there's a close up in the second post, most likely a stylo, but possibly pocillipora

Very nice progression & growth. The new aqauscape looks great!
Thankyou swannyson, the growth has really taken off in the last 2 months, seems like once the system becomes stable and no phosphates things have just been growing like mad. I dose balling method and it always amazes me how much alk and cal I have to add on top of 10%weekly WC with good salt.

Thankyou GR808, I love the pillars as well, it really creates interest in there, and yes allows for great coral placement. I think I will open up the left side more like the right by lowering the mountain and creating more pillars.

Thankyou Paul, I am very pleased with the growth.

Great looking tank and inhabitants. I really like your new open scape. Very nice and thanks for sharing.
Thankyou, tank has made quite a transformation from the start. Funny that the norm for so long was the solid wall of rock, but now the tanks with the open scape is just so much more interesting.

I definitely like the new scape. It's inspiring!
Thankyou for your kind words, it still inspires me everytime I look at it. Since this is a tall tank, the actual footprint is only 48X18 so by making pillars I can utilize some of the vertical space, and it looks interesting, a win win!

Your tank looks great, the move to sps is always exciting. Those green mushrooms to the right my give you a little grief in the long run. I had those & they started to control a large part of my reef that is also a sps dominate tank. Keep doing the good work you are doing, amazing tank that will only get better if you stay with it.

I know exactly what you are saying, I had these mushrooms in my previous 55g and they took over, but they dont seem to in my new tank. It seems the light is too intense for them and only like it where it is more subdued.
