Careless drivers!

Is it just me or does it seem like all bad drivers gravitate towards me?!
So there's this girl that JUST got her license, and when I mean just I mean it's only a temporary license. I went to go to the lfs and just left and am at a stop sign. She's in front of me and it's dark so my lights are on. There's no cars so she starts to pull out but apparently something spooked her so she stops and instead of staying there she decides to back up. Yes...back up with me behind her. I tried to go for the reverse but it was going to take too long so I honked. I honked and honked and honked and BAM... YAY my bumper is cracked! She's in a Trail Blazer and I'm in an Elantra... So the cop comes and tells us that since it's on private property there's really nothing he can do but just get our information. So we give him our information and then he goes to the girl and starts talking to her saying stuff like, yeah if you notify the insurance company and tell your side of the story they'll probably just let it go and let their own insurance company pay for it. I was just standing there like what the heck. Aren't cops SUPPOSED to be impartial to any situation. To me that sounded like he's telling her that if we go through insurance nothing is going to happen to her. Now I don't want to play the race card but I'm asian and chicks white...and so is the cop. He doesn't even spend 2 seconds with me about MY options seeing that I'm the victim. I was like...thanks @######. Oh and on top of things...the cop was like was his lights on and she said no. NO! It's dark out and you think I'm not going to turn on my lights?! Yeah I turned off my lights after she hit me because what's the point in leaving them on?! I also turned off my car. Maybe my car wasn't even on either! I just can't believe people. And what the heck matters if my lights were on or off. SHE DIDN'T LOOK BACK. They made it sound like it was my fault. I was like what the heck is going on here. LOL I just couldn't believe this crap. They said they're gunna call around 10pm and it's past, so if they don't call in the next 10 minutes I'm going straight to the insurance. That cop is a ####@##. Sorry I just had to vent, I'm really tired of these idiots. This isn't the first time something stupid like this happened. One time I was at a RED stop light and this girl comes up from behind and rear ends me...

On privet property the cops have no options but to let you 2 haggle it out with the insurance companies. He can't even write a ticket for it.....Sucks but hopefully you can get it fixed and her insurance will go up that I am sure.....

yeah and the cop also said that even if it was on public roads the damage is soo small that its unreportable, unless they changed the laws thats a load of bull or the laws in this county is different than my county
i was in an accident where it produced a dent only about 1" and the cop said it had to be reported...

Did you get her insurance info??? You should always get the other person's insurance info if they ran into you.

OMG!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS CRAP.
So the claim surveyor comes out from my insurance to check out the damage, and I ask him if I needed to contact the other person's insruance company or will my adjuster guy do it for me and he said I needed to. So I call them up the other person's insurance company and I ask them about the accident and they tell me there's already a claim with this accident so I said cool maybe my insurance people really send out the claim, and the office that's dealing with my case is busy but they'll call me back. So I wait and wait and wait and they call me asking for my statement and my information. The usual stuff. Then the dude tells me the messing girl told them the exact opposite. That apparently I HIT HER! I REALLY HATE PEOPLE. They insurance guy asks me for the police officer's name and number and said that if I didn't have that info the claim would have been denied right there. So now they have to ask the officer if he remember's what happened 3 days ago. It was never really about the money. I really don't care about my car that much, as long as it gets me to point a to point b but for someone to come back and tell me I am lying and it was MY fault is just ridiculous. I REALLY doubt the cop is going to help me too seeing that it seemed like he was already in her favor.
I had VERY little respect for humanity as it was but now...are you kidding me. If this cop doesn't pull through and just tell that person's insurance company what they told her then I've just given up on humanity all together. I mean seriously, does her parents think she's gunna grow up well when they're telling her from the start it's your word vs his? All this just to save money on insurance becuase she JUST turned 16 and she already is a bad driver...SHE DIDN'T LOOK BACK WHEN SHE REVERSED because if she did SHE WOULD HAVE SEEN ME. And if I hit her I would have been rolling forward...WHICH WOULDN'T HAVE CRACKED MY FREAKING BUMPER!!!
I just can't believe people are such jerks.

Man, sorry to hear that Mike. What she did is such BS. Don't worry too much though, insurance companies tend to favor mature drivers over teen drivers. I'm sure everything's going to work out for you in the end.

Did you take any pictures ... suspect this cop was "only trying" to be nice to the other driver 'cuz she's a Temp ... :( or was she kinda Cute :confused: ??
I don't have faith in our local police after an incident at a private swimming class ... totally lost faith and everytime I see them Cops ... they're out there to abuse their authority and heck ... no offence I have cop friends but there are a lot who's nothing more than on a Major Ego trip ... :-x !!!

I was thinking the same thing, the cop was fairly young and the driver was fairly cute, even though she's only 16.
BUT I do have some good news. I went back to the scene to see if I can find any witnesses seeing that it's only my word against hers. So I go back to the LFS and see if anyone saw anything. Someone at the counter told me that there was someone working there Tuesday and that he was outside. So I ask the dude and he didn't see it. Almost all hope was lost. So what I did was I went out to look for the next place to ask seeing that I know there was a gas station at the corner, maybe someone from there saw something. But when I look over there I see something better. It was a Goodwill truck thingy. I was just hoping they didn't close at 5 seeing that this happened at 510ish. I go upto the trailer thing and the sign says 9-530 M-F. Sounds like I got a sure winner here. I was SOOOO happy that this ****** and her family gets nailed for this fraud. So I ask the guy and he said he was there and he did hear the accident. He saw me with my lights on and heard me honking like mad. Cause I was honking like crazy and she said she didn't hear it. Oh she also said my lights were off and he saw those too. Anyways, only problem here is he didn't SEE the accident but he heard me honking. Now why would I honk if I hit her? I HOPE this wins me my claim but I have a feeling it won't. I still have the po po that could fess up, I just hope he does but I also now have a witness that works for Goodwill.

Oh and I did take pics with my camera phone but you really can't see the damage since it was soo dark out and I tried using the flash on it and it just whited the entire pic. You can see the license plate is all mangled though.
And yes I agree I don't like women drivers. All but one of the occurences I've had with bad driving has been with women. One almost ran me off the highway trying to switch lanes...I just wish she looked left cause I was RIGHT NEXT TO HER. And THEN she took the exit that was on the RIGHT...no CLUE what the heck happened there. Then there's some that just decide to break...for NO REASON, I love those.

Not being prejudice ... but Men drivers aren't any better .... seriously! Our highways are filled with irresponsible guy drivers ..... and I'm a responsible family guy driver .... ;) !!

Yeah I know there's a lot of bad guy drivers too but it's just what I've noticed in my lifetime. If I don't react quick enough I would be in a LOT more accidents where people just hit me and it just happens to be girls all the time. I don't want to say only girls are bad drivers but I get the "I'm Asian so I must be a bad driver" all the time.

i CANNOT believe this is happening, it doesnt MATTER if i have a witness because he doesnt have any new information...
thats what the freakin people at State Farm is saying, since my witness doesnt have new information im still getting stiffed here, so now i have to go through the legal system and she is pretty much getting off scott free
what the heck is the point of having a witness if it isnt supposed to confirm or deny a story from one party or another?! I JUST DONT GET IT, INSURANCE IS A FREAKING JOKE!!!

sorry to hear this , it sucks and ppl cant drive these days , I got hit be a car 2 months ago crossing the street , the lady was on the cell while making a left turn into me im somewhat ok few injuries but alive and well . funny thing was she stopped and said , DID I HIT YOU lol

dont get upset. If you have too take her to small claims court. sometime ppl see court papers and choke up and get scared.

Cops are ppl and ppl are not all here these days either. There are good and bad in ever profession. just sucks when its a profession we look to protect us and help . We just have to say thanks to the ones that do their job

Its nothing I wouldn't tell them in person (assuming they weren't in the process of writing me a ticket while calling me by the wrong name despite holding my license, and not listening to my answers to their questions)
