If it's not growing you won't see the pink tips. When it's doing well and thriving you should see a good 1-1.5" long pink tips.

I run T5's weekly water changes, oversized skimmer, and feed my fish. Alk and Calc are the only supplements

Very nice, dose anyone know of a system that keeps the pink tip in a high nutrient environment other than mr. Ross from cal academy of science in San francisco? What do you run ur no3- and po4 also what's ur typical alk level

My colony has been in PO4 as high as .35-.4 and the pink colors were still fine. It's going to grow faster in lower PO4 levels.

Po4- .03.-.11 NO3-.25- 2.5

Alk- 8.0-8.5

Light spectrum is more important in getting it's colors right. Here is a recent close up picture.

Got this one as a wild colony and it's looking very close to a Paletta pink tip. Any thoughts?
Any history linked to Mike Paletta for this coral? It's becoming quite a showstopper in my tank with non stop growth and more pink than when I got it.

That looks like a different species but the color combo is similar. I've seen quite a few wild species come through over the last few years that look like your colony.

Any Idea what type of Accros that is or what the paletta is? I'll try to get a few close ups and the coralites structure and growth pattern look very similar.
