I would to get other people's input on this bad boy! The only good picture I've seen is Adams from battle corals. I have a piece but it's not showing good color yet.... 6 months old and encrusting still. Give me something to look forward 2!

I'll steal a picture from the @Battlecorals Web site because I don't think adam will mind! This thing is so cool looking I can't wait for mine to grow up!

Here's a picture of mine. As you can see its still encrusting and is pretty bland! The edges are starting to show some color.

Hey Heath! The ultimates is another really tough one to make happy. In fact I have always been mystified by the allure to this one at all. It's cool for sure but still never blew me away. I think jared at rocky has the nicest looking colony I have seen yet though. At least gives me hope and shows the real potential

i think its just hard one to get there.

I finally got mine to start coloring up under some new LEDs, after 3+ years of brown blob. Kind of like a stubby Vivid's rainbow delight, with nuanced differences in the coloration. Took a massively encrusted frag (4"+ diameter), and a major boost in intensity and flow, with the addition of some violet LEDs.

I will give it a couple of weeks and try to take a photo. It is next to a big browned out Vivid colony too, so maybe I can get a comparison shot out of it.

Hmm that has me debating if i should move mine up to the very top of my tank into more light and flow before it encrust's any more than it has already.

Mine is pretty much all purple, it's a nice purple but not quite what we all know it's capable of. Mine is also next to a brown vivids piece and across from an identical ultimates red polyp tricolor.

Hmmm...may want to check with Adam @Battlecorals. I think he may have a piece of it under the same Photon 48 fixture you're running, if your signature is correct.

Mine is about 24" below Cree (mostly xt-e) LEDs with 60 degree optics in a prop tank, lots of turbulent flow from a Gyre at either end of the tank. It was under XREs up until a couple of weeks ago, and grew fine but was brown. It is getting more flow, intensity, and the addition of cyan and violet LEDs in the prop tank. So one, some, or all of those triggered it coloring up....

It is looking better every day, never thought I would be impressed with this coral, but I am!

Edit...just saw your previous post. I would suggest moving it up. My best looking colony of Vivid's is at the very top of my display and gets loads of flow. They seem to like it intense.

Mine is getting it's color back after stopping carbon dosing. For some reason my tank does not respond well to vodka, or biopellets.

Finally got around to uploading a photo. It got quite pale following a sudden transition to a new DIY LED fixture, but has exploded with growth. All of the colored tips are new in the past month or so. It was entirely brown for the prior 3 years.
