diy canopy build

Hello all i have recently got a 180 gallon tank and stand i want to make it look like the first picture with a canopy but i have a few questions 1 how do i build this canopy i have never built one before and 2 will a canopy have a negative effect im worried about the weight and 3 what can i put...
