filter sock holder

I am purchasing the Ruby Sump 30 by Trigger which comes with built in filter sock holders. I really want to install a ReefMat 500 in the drain/skimmer section. Any suggestions on how to remove the filter sock holders? Do you think the ReefMat would fit in the section without removing the holders?

Hello everyone, I have a JBJ 15G cube. The Overflow Chamber: 3.25"L x 4"W x 16"H. I am looking to get a filter sock for it, but I can't find a 2.75 inch filter sock with a ring that holds it. The 4 inch ring is too big so I am kinda stuck. Anyone know what I can do?
